PARIS, FRANCE, July 30, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — On Thursday, July 29, 2021, on the thirty-third anniversary of the 1988 massacre of more than 30,000 political prisoners, more than 90% of whom were supporters and members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (AKA, Mujahedin-e Khalq, MEK, PMOI),

Resistance Units and supporters of the MEK reiterated the need for justice and prosecution of the perpetrators of this great crime, especially Ebrahim Raisi, known as the henchman of the massacre. He is scheduled to take office as the regime’s president next week.

Defiant youth and MEK supporters held pictures of the victims of the 1988 massacre, who were executed because they chose to remain steadfast in their commitment to Iran's freedom and refused to denounce the MEK.

By these acts, they called for justice to be imposed on those responsible for the massacre.

They also carried placards with slogans such as:

"The murderer [Ebrahim] Raisi must be prosecuted,”

“The criminal Raisi (should know), he will be held accountable,”

“we will neither forgive nor forget the 1988 massacre,”

“Death to Raisi, the henchman of 1988 massacre – hail to Rajavi.”

Resistance Units and Mujahedin-e Khalq supporters also hanged banners on overhead paths on major motorways in Tehran and other cities.

The banners quoted speeches by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), on the 1988 massacre, and Ebrahim Raisi’s role in that crime against humanity.

The banners read:

"Maryam Rajavi: Raisi is guilty because even today he is still defending all his past crimes,"

"Maryam Rajavi: The 1988 massacre is one of the darkest moments in contemporary Iranian history,"

"Maryam Rajavi, today, the justice movement for the massacred victims is part of the movement of all Iranians to overthrow the regime,"

“Neither hiding the truth, nor destroying mass graves of the martyrs, or hiding their political tendencies (MEK), can stop the justice movement.”

Resistance Units and MEK supporters carried out these activities in harsh-security conditions and while the State Security Force and the Basiji militias were on high alert.

Local communities welcomed the activities with enthusiasm.

These activities took place in Greater Tehran, Isfahan, Ahvaz, Lahijan, Shahriar, Amol, Shiraz, Babolsar, Tabriz, Khorasan, Rasht, Kerman, Torbat-e Jam, Karaj, Khorramabad, Mashhad, Bandar Abbas, Yazd, Anzali, and Qazvin. Pictures of some of these activities could be seen below.

Further Allegations the EU's court in The Hague is Politically Motivated

EU's court in The Hague is accused of being politically motivated as defence counsel seeks recusal of President Ekaterina Trendafilova and Judge Charles Smith

The EU's Controversial Court in The Hague Attracts Further Criticism”

— Charles Simpson

LONDON, LONDON, UK, July 30, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — On 26 July 2021 defence counsel in the case of Nasim Haradinaj sought the recusal of the President and Vice President of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.

The recusal of President Trendafilova from exercising any judicial, administrative or case-management decision-making function in the instant case, on the grounds that President Trendafilova’s statements at a confidential diplomatic briefing undermine her independent and impartial judicial decision-making and representation of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers and seriously harm the proper administration of justice before the Specialist Chambers or the proper internal functioning of the Specialist Chambers and that President Trendafilova’s conduct may have caused harm to the standing of the Specialist Chambers.

Defence counsel averred the Defendants’ rights and interests are substantially affected by the presence of the President at the Specialist Chambers, in her representative capacity as well as in her judicial capacity. There is a risk of that abuse of authority, misrepresentations of Defendants and promoting the cause of another party continuing, if she is not recused or disqualified from any judicial, administrative or case-management function in the instant case.

The recusal of Vice President Smith on the grounds of Vice President Smith’s prior conduct in a high judicial office in the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (“EULEX”), including alleged demonstrated abuse of judicial authority and exercise of political pressure that undermines his judicial decision-making and risks seriously harming the proper administration of justice before the Specialist Chambers or the proper internal functioning of the Specialist Chambers and further that Vice President Smith’s conduct may have caused harm to the standing of the Specialist Chambers.

Defence counsel averred the Defendant’s rights and interests are substantially affected by the appointment of the Vice President as Presiding Judge on Trial Panel II. There is a risk of that abuse of authority by the Vice President continuing if he is not recused or disqualified from serving as Presiding Judge on Trial Panel II and from exercising any judicial, administration and case management function in the instant case. The Defence seeks the recusal or disqualification of the Vice President from all judicial, administration and case management function in the instant case on the basis that his prior conduct, as alleged, would cause any objective observer or bystander to apprehend, that there is an appearance of judicial bias or impropriety and a distinct lack of impartiality and independence, that cannot be restored.

The Kosovo Specialist Chambers has been mired in controversy since its creation. It is widely viewed in Kosovo as being an ethnic court.

Oklahoma State Sen. Nathan Dahm: Conservatives Need to Take a Stand Against Socialism

Oklahoma State Sen. Nathan Dahm

Official Logo for Truth & Liberty Coalition

"America needs like-minded member of the legislators of all our states," said Richard Harris, Truth & Liberty Coalition executive director

This generation has no clue about communism or socialism. Most of them think ‘socialism’ means ‘social media’ – they have no idea what it truly entails.”

— Oklahoma State Sen. Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow

WOODLAND PARK, COLORADO, UNITED STATES, July 29, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Oklahoma State Sen. Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow, warns socialism is far more dangerous than it is currently portrayed in American popular culture and politics.

“This generation has no clue about communism or socialism,” said Dahm. “Most of them think ‘socialism’ means ‘social media’ – they have no idea what it truly entails.”

Dahm recently joined the Truth & Liberty Coalition livecast to discuss a number of issues, including how to respond to socialism by fighting for conservative values.

Dahm’s missionary parents moved their family to Romania in 1994. As an American boy in a former communist nation, Dahm witnessed the destructive nature of socialism in real life. During the family’s time there, Romanians suffered from substandard healthcare, limited food supplies, and skyrocketing inflation.

“Their currency became so worthless that, at one point, they dropped four zeros off of their currency because it had just been so devalued,” said Dahm. “It was the second-worst inflation in the world.”

When Dahm returned to Oklahoma as an adult and saw the rising popularity of socialism in America, he became involved in government. For Dahm, legislating against socialist policies – especially in the wake of government lockdowns and the restriction of rights – is part of a larger battle. Over his nine years in the state Senate, Dahm routinely championed constitutionally conservative legislation, even when some members of his party would not.

“So many of them have this idea of ‘That's not the hill to die on; that's not our battle,’” said Dahm. “Well, if you don't engage in those battles – if you don’t fight a battle on that hill that the Left is trying to take over – they will take it over because you’ve ceded that ground.”

According to Richard Harris, Truth & Liberty Coalition executive director, “Sen. Dahm’s tenure in the Oklahoma Legislature has been a faithful and vigorous stand for the principles of freedom and limited government. America needs like-minded member of the legislators of all our states."

United States House Passes Funding Package with Multitude of Pro-Animal Provisions

WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, July 29, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

United States House Passes Funding Package with Multitude of Pro-Animal Provisions

July 29, 2021 – The Humane Society Legislative Fund commends the U.S. House of Representatives for passing an appropriations package that features numerous animal protection provisions, including directives for better enforcement of laws that target horse soring and other animal cruelty, expanded shelter options for domestic violence survivors with pets, and measures to prevent horse slaughter on U.S. soil, enhance U.S. Department of Agriculture laboratories’ compliance with animal welfare standards, and encourage the transition of egg farmers to cage-free operations.

Other animal welfare provisions approved include funding increases to implement a humane, long-term management regime for wild horses and burros on federal land, combat wildlife trafficking, protect endangered and threatened species, and address the dangers of live wildlife markets and zoonotic disease spillover, along with directives to reduce animal testing and to promote federal building designs and materials that reduce bird mortality from collisions.

“These extraordinary gains are a testament to the power of the purse, and the clearest possible indication that animal protection enjoys strong support from the majority of House members,” said Sara Amundson, president of Humane Society Legislative Fund. “We’ll move right into gear to press the Senate to follow suit, because these are all important measures that deserve to be enacted.”

The bill also prohibits funds from being used by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to issue permits for the import of a sport-hunted trophy of an elephant or lion taken in Tanzania, Zambia or Zimbabwe – three countries where the species populations are in severe decline. Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., led a letter seeking this prohibition signed by a bipartisan set of 33 representatives. An amendment to strike this important provision was defeated.

Additional amendments approved by a vote of 371 to 55 authorize the transfer of $2 million to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to study the plight of the West Indian manatee in Florida and potential remedies, championed by Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., and direct the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to use $5 million for equine assisted therapy within the VA's Adaptive Sports Program, which was advanced by Rep. Andy Barr, R-Ky.

The measures are part of H.R. 4502, “Minibus #1”, which passed by a vote of 219 to 208. This package of seven appropriations bills funds several federal departments including Agriculture, Interior, and Health and Human Services, and contains many pro-animal provisions approved by earlier committee action, highlighted here and here.

House Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Sanford Bishop, D-Ga., proved a strong champion of animal provisions in his bill, many of which were requested by a bipartisan set of 204 Representatives and 43 Senators led in the House by Reps. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., and Christopher Smith, R-N.J. Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., led a committee amendment to limit higher-speed slaughter lines.

“The way we treat animals reflects the values we hold. I’m thrilled to see so many of our bipartisan animal welfare provisions reflected in the appropriation bills moving forward in Congress,” said Rep. Earl Blumenauer, co-chair of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus. “From supporting cage-free egg laying facilities to strengthening the humane handling requirements for poultry plants to stopping horse soring, we are taking critical steps to ensure better treatment of wild and domestic animals.”

By a vote of 217 to 212, the House also passed a separate appropriations bill, H.R. 4373, funding the State Department, U.S. Agency for International Development, and other agencies that adds tens of millions of dollars and key provisions to tackle the combined threats to human health and animal welfare worldwide from wildlife trafficking and live wildlife markets that are associated with zoonotic disease transmission. During debate on that bill, the House approved a good amendment on combatting the trafficking of endangered species, which was offered by Rep. Jackson Lee, D-Texas.
