Libertarian Party Assembly District 7 Candidate James Just Addresses Police Abuse

Live-Streamed Murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police Shows Need for Police Accountability and Reform

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, June 1, 2020 / — On Monday night, May 25th, 2020, a Facebook live-stream video took place showing George Floyd being mercilessly pinned to the ground by the exact same people sworn to protect us. Multiple police officers were on site, as people begged for help and pleaded for the pulse of George Floyd to be taken. On Tuesday night, May 26th, 2020 Libertarian Party Assembly District 7 candidate, James Just, spoke out on his weekly video broadcast saying, “It is the most disturbing thing many of us have had to see.”

James Just has since then composed a letter addressed to Americas Law Enforcement Unions, pleading for a change. On Saturday, May 30th, 2020 James writes “Law enforcement unions can play a vital role in bridging the growing divide between law enforcement and the populace.” We want to have a sound solution suggested. In due time the pain and anger will settle and we will all be seeking that actual change we have been promised over and over again. At the end of his letter James wrote “It is time for unions to exercise their obligation to protect the interests of the good, honest, and hardworking police officers and find a way to root out violent or incompetent police officers.”

Cornerstone Pivoted Campaign Strategies to Take Advantage of Large Vote-by-Mail Returns & High Election Turnouts in Historic Presidential Preference Election

I want to congratulate our clients on their successful elections. They worked hard and earned the trust of the voters”

— Rick Asnani

WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, June 1, 2020 / — Cornerstone Solutions, a full-service public affairs political consulting and ballot initiative firm providing strategic communications services, crisis management and corporate and grassroots solutions, today announced two major victories during the March 2020 election cycle. West Palm Beach City Commissioner Christina Lambert and the City of West Palm Beach Parks Bond Referendum both received overwhelming support from the voters in the historic Presidential Preference Election.

West Palm Beach City Commissioner Christina Lambert won her re-election with a 65.65% percent vote. Over 14,674 voters turned out for the election, which was more than the last two city mayoral elections – further highlighting the high turnout numbers as a result of the presidential preference on the ballot. Commissioner Lambert was sworn into office in West Palm Beach’s first-ever virtual swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, April 2, 2020.

Cornerstone Solutions’ ballot initiative division also worked with the city of West Palm Beach on the public education campaign about the city’s Parks Bond Referendum. The bond was overwhelmingly approved by the voters with 82.10% of the vote where over 15,244 voters turned out. The successful passage of the referendum secured $30 million to aid with the construction, improvement, renovation, equipment and furnishing of city parks. The bond will replace playgrounds, improve lighting, resurface parking lots and trails and install infrastructure to allow for enhanced community amenities and greater activation of parks.

As the COVID-19 crisis broke out, Cornerstone Solutions quickly adjusted its campaign strategy to adapt to the changing environment. As part of Cornerstone’s daily vote-by-mail tracking program, they adjusted campaign strategies to launch virtual GOTV programs that focused on the use of digital advertising technology, telephonic communications and online video conferences to connect with voters. Cornerstone focused on best practices to campaign while social distancing.

While adjusting for COVID-19, the firm also expanded its crisis communications division to extend its services to businesses in the community. The firm is working with Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, nonprofits and associations on how to respond to COVID-19 and the challenges the pandemic presents.

“I want to congratulate our clients on their successful elections. They worked hard and earned the trust of the voters,” said Rick Asnani, president of Cornerstone Solutions. “In addition, while the COVID-19 crisis presented electoral challenges and continues to bear down on our community, our team is adjusting to this new normal. We recognize how crises change voters’ attitudes, changes how they vote and changes how the community responds and reacts to local government. We not only adapted our communications to meet these challenges, but have positioned our firm to continue to provide the same level of service, expertise and tools to connect with the community and the upcoming 2020 elections.”

Fast Developing Conditions Spur the Need for Greater Security to Protect Property

We were fortunate, with the help of police and other emergency services, to be able to get into the area and pass through several road closures, to deliver two trailer loads of Archer 1200 barriers.”

— Meridian CEO Peter Whitford

PASADENA, CA, UNITED STATES, May 31, 2020 / — In Los Angeles, the hometown of Meridian Rapid Defense Group, protests and riots over the weekend resulted in a call to Meridian for help in further securing the city’s most popular shopping precinct, The Grove.

“We were fortunate, with the help of police and other emergency services, to be able to get into the area and pass through several road closures, to deliver two trailer loads of Archer 1200 barriers,” said Meridian CEO Peter Whitford

For several hours on Saturday, the surrounding streets of The Grove were at the epicenter of the protest.

Archer barriers are now in place at all vehicle entrances to The Grove, which has been a regular user of the Archer 1200s, maintaining a safe but discreet environment for the large crowds at the prestige shopping and lifestyle location. Because the Archer 1200 is "drop & stop" ready and requires no heavy equipment, the barriers could be deployed in rapid response to the growing threat.

“While Meridian is there to help, we look forward to a quick return to normal for all of the city,” said Mr. Whitford. “But for the moment the barriers will provide a secure zone for employees and repair teams to work behind as the city hopefully, quickly returns to normal.”

Elsewhere around Los Angeles over the weekend, it was “business as usual.” Archer barriers were on-site to protect many of the Farmers’ Markets that have recently re-opened.

Meridian Barriers are “SAFETY Act Certified” by the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) providing the ultimate standard in keeping people, communities, and places safer.
