In “Sibling Rivalry” a small town election becomes a battle of ideals for a brother and sister who run against each other for village trustee. “It’s ‘House of Cards’ meets ‘Parks-and-Rec’” says writer and producer, Don Colacino, who also directed the film. “The script has a tortured history, evolving from a really twisted family tree story to the quirky political satire that made it to the screen. I feel really lucky to have had such a great cast and crew who worked well together and made the set a lot of fun. Maya Jairam and Richard Ortner, my two lead actors, are just so perfect in their roles! During filming I almost ruined a couple of takes by laughing as I watched the monitor.” While the cast was comprised of both professional actors like Jairam and Ortner, the crew were entirely students at the time. Most have now graduated to professional careers in the film industry in Hollywood, Albuquerque, and other film-friendly locales, as well as in Colorado which is home to a robust and growing filmmaker community.

“Sibling Rivalry” was released to festivals in December 2019 and will make its screen debut on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Ivywild School Events Center in Colorado Springs. Then on Friday, March 27, 2020 it will screen at the University of Albany in the capital city of the filmmaker’s home state of New York.

The first Ideal Org devoted to Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties opened before an exuberant audience of some 4,000 Scientologists and federal, state and local dignitaries. The dedication crests an ambitious period of growth through the past decade, only accelerating into 2020.

For the 100,000 daily commuters motoring on the 101, the glass-encased, new Church gleams as an unmistakable beacon of freedom just minutes from Downtown Ventura and Surfers Point, and but 500 yards from the San Buenaventura State Beach. At 66,000 square feet, the expansive and striking structure provides the capacity to immediately multiply manyfold the Church’s outreach and services to the hundreds of thousands who call this stretch of coastline home.
Stirred by a wafting Pacific breeze, a festive air of accomplishment pervaded the occasion. Leading the grand celebration was Mr. David Miscavige, the ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion, who told the assembled that the wave for which they were waiting was now about to break: “A perfect wave. An endless wave. A wave anyone can ride to higher plateaus of ability and spiritual immortality. Joining the Scientology parishioners and Church officials were Councilman Steven Gama, from the City of Port Hueneme, Ventura County; Sharon Byrne, Advisor to the 4th District of Santa Barbara County; John Chavez, Voluntary Agency Liaison, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); and Barbara Gaughen-Muller, President of the Tri-County United Nations Association.

In highlighting the Church’s work toward environmental responsibility, Councilman Gama described L. Ron Hubbard’s nonreligious moral guide, The Way to Happiness, as having “the power to get people into action.” He went on to state: “Your Way to Happiness volunteers have already been out with us all along Ormond Beach at our cleanups. From early morning until we’re done for the day, you are there taking care of our precious environment and helping it to thrive… So not only with this new Church help preserve all that is good about our incredible home, it will be beacon inspiring an even better environment, better neighbors and a better community for us all.”

Sharon Byrne of Santa Barbara County praised the impact regional Scientology-sponsored drug education has had on raising awareness and ultimately saving young lives. “Your film The Truth About Drugs provides the vision and guidance people need in 2020,” she said. “It gets in your face and tells it like it is. The striking new facility provides the region with an introduction to Dianetics and Scientology, beginning with the Public Information Center. Its displays, containing more than 500 films, present the beliefs and practices of the Scientology religion and the life and legacy of Founder L. Ron Hubbard. The Information Center also offers a detailed overview of the many Church-sponsored humanitarian programs—including a worldwide human rights education initiative, far-reaching drug education, prevention and rehabilitation programs; a global network of literacy and learning centers; and the Scientology Volunteer Minister program, which has become one of the world's largest independent relief forces. PARIS, FRANCE, February 26, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) released the names of 31 more martyrs of the November 2019 uprising that swept 191 cities across Iran, bringing to 755 the number of those killed, who have been identified so far.

More than 100 days after the uprising, despite domestic and international calls, the Iranian regime, fearing the repercussions of its crime against humanity, continues to refuse announcing the number of those killed. In a despicable game, the regime’s officials and different agencies, including Hassan Rouhani, the Supreme National Security Council, Rouhani’s Spokesman, the Interior Minister, and the Coroner’s Office deflect the announcement of the figures to each other.

In a press conference on February 16, Rouhani said, “The Coroner’s Office has the figures… They can announce it…. There’s no problem with that.” The next day, the Head of the Coroner’s Office responded, “The ratifications of the National Security Council, which is a subsidiary of the Government and is headed by the Interior Minister, have specified as to who must announce the figures… The Government must announce them… We have told the relevant authorities and have no duty to publicly announce them…. You can get all the information from the Interior Minister.”

Subsequently, Rouhani’s Spokesman Ali Rabiee said on February 19, “The figures will be announced by relevant authorities shortly. A decision has been made is this regard and the figures will be announced by one of the authorized entities in the next few days.”

The Iranian Resistance again calls on the United Nations Secretary-General to dispatch a fact-finding mission to Iran to investigate the status of those killed and wounded and visit the prisons and those arrested.
